What is Plasma Pen?
The Plasma Pen by Louise Walsh is a new skin rejuvenation treatment that can address loose skin and other cosmetic concerns. The pen uses plasma gas technology by converting electrical current to electrostatic energy that reacts with the nitrogen and oxygen in the air. This reaction creates “plasma”, which inflicts controlled damage on the skin that triggers collagen production and the body’s healing processes. As the skin heals, you will notice a gradual reduction in your cosmetic concerns. What Should I Expect from My Plasma Pen Procedure?
Before beginning treatment, the treatment area will be numbed with local anesthetic, preventing any discomfort that may arise during the Plasma Pen procedure. Then, the Plasma Pen device will be maneuvered above the treatment area. This device never makes contact with the skin, only the plasma created will touch the skin’s surface. This means your treatment is completely non-invasive. We treat one small area at a time, so the local anesthetic and Plasma Pen process will be repeated as necessary to address the full treatment area.
What Can I Expect After My Plasma Pen Treatment?
The Plasma Pen treatment causes carbon dots to develop in the treatment area. This form of crusting will look and feel much like a scab. The treatment area has to stay dry until these carbon dots fall off, which can take up to a week for the face and up to two weeks for the body. While you will need to take special care with the treatment areas, patients are able to resume most activities following their Plasma Pen treatment.
