Brow Lift
in Daytona Beach, FL

Sergio M. Zamora MD, FACS offers brow lifts for men and women who live in Daytona Beach, New Smyrna Beach and the surrounding communities in Florida. If you’re bothered by the wrinkles and lines in your forehead and brow region, or if you are just tired of looking tired, a brow lift may be right for you.

What Is A Brow Lift?

Drooping skin around your eyes and forehead can cause you to look unhappy and tired. A brow lift - also called a forehead lift - is a surgical procedure that improves low placement or sagging of your brows, while minimizing the appearance of lines and creases in your forehead. A brow lift elevates drooping eyebrows, diminishes lines and wrinkles in the forehead, and increases your self-esteem.

Benefits of a Brow Lift

A brow lift is designed to restore the area above your eyes to a more refreshed and youthful-looking appearance, as wrinkles, sagging skin, and expression lines on your forehead can make you look years older than your actual age. While a facelift tightens and smooths the skin all over your face, a brow lift from Dr. Zamora specifically focuses on the skin directly above your eyebrows and on your forehead, and it is a good option for those who have noticeable lines on the upper parts of their faces.

Who Is The Ideal Candidate For A Brow Lift?

Overactive muscles, heredity, and age are all factors that contribute to these bothersome expression lines and drooping that make one appear older, tired, sad, or even angry. If you want to freshen up your looks with a smoother and more youthful looking forehead, then a brow lift may be right for you. The best candidates for a brow lift are those of an older age who have fine lines and wrinkles on their foreheads but who are in good health.

What Do I Need To Do Before A Brow Lift?

Just like any other surgery, it’s important to make preparations for your brow lift procedure, including preparing your home for your recovery period, arranging for assistance in the first 24 hours after your procedure, and doing the following pre-operative preparations:

  • Have an overall health check-up
  • Complete necessary blood work
  • Discontinue use of aspirin, ibuprofen, and certain vitamins and other supplements two weeks prior to your procedure
  • Cease smoking two weeks prior to your procedure
  • Alter, adjust or discontinue your current daily medications temporarily based on Dr. Zamora’s recommendation

IN OUR CLIENTS' OWN WORDS

What Should I Expect On The Day Of My Brow Lift?

There are two types of brow lifts, a classic brow lift, which consists of a coronal incision, which starts at the ear level and runs around the top of your forehead to your other ear in a headphone-like pattern. Dr. Zamora will only perform this type on specific patients. The other type of brow lift, which is the one that Dr. Zamora performs routinely is the endoscopic brow lift. An endoscopic brow lift, utilizing small incisions hidden within the hairline and requires the use of Endotines, which are small dissolvable implants, will anchor and support the lifted tissue.  This allows the tissue and muscle structure beneath the skin to be repositioned, altered, or removed, correcting the source of visible creases and furrows. During your consultation, Dr. Zamora will discuss the benefits of an endoscopic brow lift or forehead lift with you, so you can make the brow lift choice that’s right for you.

How Long Does It Take To Perform A Brow Lift?

The brow lift procedure generally takes about two hours and is performed under general anesthesia.

What To Expect After A Brow Lift?

After the procedure, your forehead may be loosely wrapped to minimize swelling and bruising. You should keep your head elevated and refrain from partaking in vigorous physical activities. Initial healing may also include some numbness and discomfort that can be controlled with prescribed oral medication. Some facial movements may be restricted or temporarily impaired, but your head should be kept elevated at all times until your initial swelling has fully subsided. Light, normal activity may be resumed in about a week. In approximately two weeks, patients usually return to work and normal activities and may use cosmetics to camouflage any bruising that remains. Healing will continue for several weeks as swelling resolves and incision lines fade. Sunscreen should be used until your healing process is fully complete.

Will I Have Scars After Getting A Brow Lift?

In a brow or forehead lift, the tissues and muscles responsible for the drooping, creases, and lines on your brow are altered or removed, resulting in raised eyebrows, a smoother forehead, and fewer frown lines, all without visible scarring. Dr. Zamora is able to discretely place your incisions so that scars are hidden from view. He will discuss his incision strategy with you during your consultation, in addition to answering any questions that you may have.

When Will I See The Results?

You can improve the look of your forehead, eliminate age lines, and restore a youthful appearance with a brow lift from Dr. Zamora. Your results will become visible as you heal from your procedure and your swelling subsides. Incisions fully heal in the weeks following your brow lift procedure.

What Are Possible Complications Of A Brow Lift?

During your brow lift consultation with Dr. Zamora, the procedure will be explained in detail, as Dr. Zamora takes all the time necessary to find out about your goals for the surgery, in addition to discussing any possible complications of a brow lift procedure.

How Long Will The Results Of A Brow Lift Last?

A brow lift cannot stop the aging process. However, the results of your brow lift will last for a long time, which is why a brow lift with Dr. Zamora is such a valuable investment in maintaining a youthful appearance.

How Much Does a Brow Lift Cost in Daytona Beach?

Because each patient has a different goal in mind, your brow lift costs will vary. During your consultation, all of your questions will be answered, and we will give you a better idea of what to expect for your fee. The fee charged for your care is based on a number of factors, including the difficulty of your operation and other factors related to your surgery, and as a result, the cost of a brow lift varies with each patient. Fees are typically paid for in advance, and in addition to accepting cash, checks, and most major credit cards, we also offer convenient financing.

Brow Lift FAQs

How long does a brow lift last?

The results of your brow lift have the potential to last you 10 years or longer with proper care. It’s important to remember that receiving a brow lift does not prevent future signs of aging from appearing. Dr. Zamora generally performs Endoscopic Browlifts, that only require four incisions along the hairline.

How painful is a brow lift?

Your brow lift will not be painful as Dr. Zamora and his team use general anesthesia throughout your surgery. Following your brow lift, Dr. Zamora will provide you with detailed post-operative care instructions to ensure you have a quick and comfortable recovery. Mild swelling, bruising, and tenderness around your eyes, brows, and hairline are normal and typically resolve on their own within a few weeks of your surgery.

Can a brow lift fix hooded eyes?

Yes, a brow lift can address hooded eyes. That being said, a brow lift is typically recommended for patients who wish to address:

  • A sagging or brooding brow
  • Fine lines and wrinkles along the forehead
  • 11s or frown lines between the brows
  • General aging along the upper third of the face

In order to address hooded eyes sometimes the browlift will need to be accompanied by an upper eyelid or blepharoplasty for the best result.

What’s the difference between a brow lift and an eyelid lift?

A brow lift is the perfect procedure for patients who wish to reduce sagging skin along their forehead and brow that contributes to a brooding or aged appearance. This surgery typically involves making incisions behind the hairline to rejuvenate the forehead and brow area. An eyelid lift or blepharoplasty, on the other hand, only focuses on reducing excess skin around the upper and lower eyelids. These incisions are typically made in the natural creases of the eyes and do not address the brows at all.

What age should I get a brow lift?

While there is no perfect age for a brow lift, we typically see women ages 40 to 60 come in considering the procedure. Ideal patients for a brow lift are in good general health, have realistic expectations of their results, and are at least 18-years-old.
