What is Voluma®?
A part of the Juvederm® family of fillers, Voluma®, is specially designed to target a loss of volume in the facial cheeks. Decreased hyaluronic acid production sometimes causes the cheeks to lose their youthful contours, leading to a flattening of the face that is often accompanied by sagging skin. Voluma® gently fills out sunken facial areas, simultaneously lifting and tightening the skin to give it a more graceful appearance.
Benefits of Voluma®
When it comes to filling in sunken areas, Voluma® is in a class by itself. No other dermal filler provides the same type of plumping effects, making it perfect for those who would like to regain that youthful facial shape they once enjoyed.
Who is the Ideal Candidate for Voluma®?
Voluma® is a treatment recommended to anyone who is concerned with a loss in facial volume.
What do I Need to do Before Voluma®?
Little advance preparation is typically needed prior to Voluma®. During your consultation, we will go over your health history and determine if any special precautions are necessary.
What Should I Expect on the Day of my Voluma® Injection?
After cleansing your skin, Dr. Zamora will prepare the right amount of Voluma® solution, which he will place in a syringe containing a very thin needle. After determining where to place your injections, he will deliver approximately half the product in one side of your face. Once that filler has settled he will administer the remaining product into the opposite side. You may feel a light stinging sensation while the solution is being injected, but this typically results in only moderate discomfort.
How Long Does it Take to Perform Voluma®?
Even though Dr. Zamora performs Voluma® injections very methodically, the entire procedure happens quickly, often taking less than a half hour to complete.
What to Expect After Voluma®
You should notice little or no after-effects, aside from some light redness or mild swelling at or near your injection sites.
Will I Have Scars After Voluma®?
You shouldn't expect any scars after Voluma®. In fact, a lack of scars is another great benefit of Voluma®.
How Long Will the Results of Voluma® Last?
Many patients have reported results that last for up to two years, although individual results may vary from person to person.
